Rhodes College scored a pair of goals in both the first and second halves en-route to a 4-0 win over the Centre College field hockey team in the SCAC Tournament Championship Sunday, Nov. 6 in Memphis, Tenn.
The top-seeded Lynx (10-7 overall), got goals from Kat Simpson (11:02) and Taylor Mills (25:20) in the first half to take a 2-0 lead into the intermission.
Katie Faucher scored at the 41:58 mark of the second half off an assist from Libby Jones for a 3-0 lead, and Sarah Kennedy, off an assist from Regan McLaughlin, scored the fourth goal for the final 4-0 tally.
Rhodes out-shot the Colonels 15-11 and held a 10-8 edge in penalty corners. Senior Patty Cowley (Louisville, Ky.) made four saves in goal for Centre.
The Colonels finish the 2011 season with an 11-8 overall record.
